New Post for Gloria Montgomery Art
A little film for you of a valentine I made. I found these cards and was going to make all my Valentines this year, but it was a really inferior paper and washard to hold an edge and make it work . Maybe next year if I can find better blank watercolor cards. ❤ But I hope you enjoy it.

Polka Dot Salad 24” x 24” Acrylic on Cradled Board
Polka dots and fruit salad are two of my favorite things.
Just had to put them together.
If you follow me on Instagram you probably know I have been taking a film class. I've had a great time and love challenging myself with this new form of creativity. No block busters for me yet, but, definitely a new adventure.
This short video was made for a film class I'm taking and shows the process of creating this original watercolor greeting card. This class has been great fun and I only have a few weeks left.
How do you keep your life balanced?
The perfectionist in me is forever looking for balance in my life. I want the square pegs in the square holes, the round pegs in the round holes, and everything outlined in ABC's and 123's. However, life doesn't usually work out that way.
Some things fit in different slots and can't be assigned places in our outlines, lists, and calendars. Sometimes we're forced to multi-task and instead of getting things done right, we just have to get them done.
Imagine that perfect balance: a full day in the studio, creating art; while miraculously the meals prepared, the clothes washed, the house is clean, errands run, shopping done, calls answered, and the dog walked.
Can you think of anyone that fits that description? Is their life really that perfect? I'll bet behind closed doors, they really aren't doing it all, they're probably just better at playing the part.
So, maybe next time I'm kicking my work boots off to don my heels, while holding the phone on my shoulder, and cleaning the sink with my free hand, I need to remember, I can do many things but, I simply can't do everything.
This video is a quick view of how I create still life art.
Just a quick little Valentine for you, and a thank you for supporting me, following me and purchasing my drawings and paintings this past year.
I hope you are enjoying my short movies about creating art, I am having a great deal of fun making them and I would love to hear any comments you have about them.
Thanks and Happy Valentine Day.
